EPICOM® has completed the delivery of the first units of the Transportable Secure Communications System, a solution tailored to meet operational needs in the defense and cybersecurity sectors. These units directly contribute to the objective of the Mando Conjunto del Ciberespacio (MCCE), whose primary mission is to guarantee the freedom of action of the Armed Forces in cyberspace, acting as the reference authority on cyber defense within the Spanish military.
Although EPICOM® is widely recognized for its track record as a national manufacturer of high-security ciphers, the company has progressively expanded its capabilities to develop and integrate complete secure communications systems, providing solutions that combine proprietary technology, specialized engineering and a focus on the operational requirements of the Ministry of Defense.
The delivered system seamlessly integrates various capabilities designed to ensure communication, connectivit and operation in demanding or degraded environments. Key features include the use of robust EP960 encryption to protect the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of communications; the aggregation of heterogeneous networks—including mobile, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and satellite networks—to guarantee service continuity; and the creation of secure Wi-Fi connectivity bubbles that enable devices deployed in the field to operate safely.
The system also incorporates advanced computing capabilities, based on virtualized cluster nodes, enabling the autonomous execution of critical applications and services, as well as high-availability satellite access, reducing reliance on terrestrial infrastructure. All of this is integrated into a fully transportable unit, housed in certified heavy-duty cases designed for rapid deployment in tactical, operational or emergency missions.
